E. Stephen “Cookie” Pompos, 82 of Cincinnati, OH, and formerly of Temperance, MI, died Tuesday, February 13, 2018. Born February 27, 1935, in Toledo, OH, he was the son of Julius S. and Anna M. (Puskas) Pompos. Steve was a US Army veteran and was the widower of Mary LaVoy-Nowicki.  He was employed as a millwright at L.O.F. for 43 years, retiring on June 1, 1997. Steve was a member of Regina Coeli Catholic Church and enjoyed camping, and traveling.

Surviving are his loving children, Becky  Dazell, James (Ruth) Pompos, William Pompos, Bonnie (Ron) Grzegorzewski, Brian (Crystal) Pompos, Craig (Lazette) Nowicki, Mark (Kris) Nowicki, Dale (Lorraine) Nowicki, Keith Nowicki, Teresa Nowicki, and Kurt (Jeanne) Nowicki; brother, Robert Pompos; sisters, Arlene  Mankowski, Virginia Silver and Jeanette (Don) Tober; 17 Grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.  Steve was also preceded in death by his first wife, Judith (Gall) Pompos; son-in-law, Dave Dazell; and brother, Julius Pompos.

Visitation will be from 3-8 pm, Friday, February 16, 2018, at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI, where a scripture service will be held Friday at 7:00 pm.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Regina Coeli Catholic Church, 530 Regina Parkway, Toledo, OH, where he will lie in state after 9:00 am.  Interment will follow at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Resurrection Cemetery, Temperance, MI. Memorials may be made to Regina Coeli Scholarship Fund.  www.pawlakfuneralhome.com
